What you can and cannot do with your license
Practical examples of permitted and prohibited uses for Standard and Extended licenses.
License terms can be complex. Here are practical examples to help you understand what is and is not allowed.
Permitted — Standard license
- Build a website for your own business using a purchased theme.
- Create a client website (one client = one license).
- Use a UI kit to design a mobile app for your employer.
- Modify and customise the asset to fit your needs.
- Use a purchased font in a logo, print materials, or website.
Not permitted — Standard license
- Use the same license to build websites for multiple clients.
- Include a purchased plugin in a theme you sell to others.
- Redistribute the source files, even for free.
- Create a derivative product that competes with the original.
- Use a purchased theme for a website that sells or distributes themes.
Permitted — Extended license
- Use a UI kit as the base for a SaaS product sold to thousands of users.
- Bundle a purchased plugin in a commercial theme sold on another marketplace.
- Reuse a template across unlimited client projects.
- Build and sell white-label products based on the asset.
Note: Violation of license terms may result in license revocation and legal action by the vendor. When in doubt, purchase the Extended license or ask our License Advisor on the product page.
